Memorial Day Cupcakes

Need cupcake ideas for your Fourth of July Celebrations?

This is a re-post of the Red, White and Blue cupcakes we featured for Memorial Day cupcakes.  But they’re also perfect as Fourth of July cupcakes so we just had to feature them again for anyone who is planning a Fourth of July celebration.

These patriotic cupcakes are the perfect treat thing for the Fourth of July with their red, white and blue theme, not to mention the sparking stars.  .

Red:  A luscious red cherry sits right at the top of each cupcakes.

White: Beneath the cheery is a  beautiful swirl of white cream cheese frosting.

Blue: Vanilla cupcakes are tinted blue with food coloring.

The stars are sugar cookies, made to sparkle with edible glitter (which was also used to dust the cherries).

Only thing missing are the stripes. For that, look for some striped cupcake liners and your cupcakes will say “Fourth of July” without missing a detail!

The Proposal Cupcake:  Now that we’re into spring, wedding bells are in the air. Imagine getting a proposal like this. A stunning eight-carat engagement (that’s huuuuge…) makes one fine cupcake topper nestled into the frosting on this Red Velvet Cupcake. This was made by Cupcakes Gourmet and came at a price tag of $55,000 – 8-carat diamond ring included.   But it is a terrific idea for a way to propose!

Most Expensive Cupcake in the World

24 Carat Gold Luxury Cupcake

Okay, Warning:  This is just a little crazy. What you see here is a 24 carot (yes, edible gold) gold luxury cupcake worth…. ahem… $1,227.70.  This luxury cupcake contains chocolate, Hawaiian tea, and a specialty jam made of peach and champagne. The frosting is butter cream spiked with high-end wine and chocolate. Wow. Just wow. Like I said, kinda crazy…
