This Melting Snowman Cupcake reminds me of the first time I saw the animated movie Frosty the Snowman. I couldn’t believe it when sweet Frosty “began to melt away!” I remember my mom coming home from work late that night after I was tucked away in my bed, and overhearing my Dad gently chuckling as he told her how hard I cried when Frosty melted into nothingness. It was the first movie I ever saw that made me cry (there would be many to follow…). Christmas always has a way of stirring up memories for us, so spend your time with your children and your loved ones mindfully this holiday season, and make sure that the memories they recall in the future are all happy ones.
And now, here’s how to make Melting Snowman Cupcakes, instructions courtesy of BoingBoing.net:
Pour a couple of cups of icing sugar (powdered sugar) into a bowl and stir in some cold water, a little at a time until you have a spreadable icing – don’t make it too runny.
Spread onto the cupcake. Pop on the head and use a little of the icing to glue on the Smartie, hat and nose. Use the black icing tube for the eyes and buttons. Easy!
